Aklan PNP wraps up COMELEC gun ban with 37 violators, 12 firearms confiscated

Aklan PNP arrested 37 violators in 38 operations being conducted by the police during the 150-day campaign of COMELEC gun ban.

The said campaign started last January 13 and ended Wednesday (June 12) midnight which resulted to the confiscation of 12 firearms and 25 bladed weapons. In the thirty eight operations being conducted, six of this are Oplan Sita and Galugad, 22 police response, 7 checkpoints, 1 in illegal gambling and 1 in buy bust operation.

PCOL Esmeraldo P Osia Jr., Officer-in-Charge of Aklan PPO said that the successes of the implementation of COMELEC gun ban are the result of various police operations and anti-criminality campaign of Aklan police force.

“This success is all because of our collaborative effort to enforce the election rules imposed by the COMELEC itself and of course with the active support of the community” he said.

Osia also commend all PNP personnel in the province who have performed well
before, during and after the election period as well as those members of the AFP and other stakeholders in the community who have given their share to make the mid-term election 2019 a peaceful and orderly.

The new Officer-In-Charge of Aklan PNP just assumed office on May 28, 2019, one week after the election and succeeded the then Provincial director, PCOL Lope M Manlapaz.

However, this does not bar the new provincial top cop to implement strict implementation in deterring lawless elements and unscrupulous activities.

“The reports of this COMELEC gun ban here in the province of Aklan shows that the recently concluded midterm elections is one of the most peaceful elections we ever had,” he quipped.

Meanwhile, police and checkpoint operations will still be sustained as part of Aklan PPO’s anti-criminality campaign in order to pre-empt illegal activities and violence.

Gun ban violators in Aklan now at 31, liquor ban to be implemented - Aklan PNP

 From January 13 to date, 31 gun ban violators have been recorded by Aklan police force.

With this, the provincial top cop, PCOL Lope Manlapaz, sends warning to the public with the increase in number of gun ban violators three days before May 13 elections.

“There will be no let-up in our operations against persons who defy gun ban.”

“We have already arrested 31 violators and confiscated 20 bladed weapons and seven firearms since day 1,” he said.

Manlapaz revealed that most of the arrests yielded in PNP-AFP-Comelec checkpoint operations. Other violators were arrested by police responding to call for assistance, visibility patrols and saturation drives and oplan sita.

He also explained that gun ban is being enforced to prevent any form of election-related violent incidence this election period.

Meanwhile, liquor ban shall be activated starting 12 A.M of May 12 (Sunday) until 12 midnight of May 13, 2019 (Monday).

Aklan PNP send-off more than 300 uniformed personnel for 2019 polls

To ensure orderly and peaceful election, Aklan Police Provincial Office under the leadership of its Provincial Director, PCOL Lope Manlapaz, held a send-off ceremony early this morning at Camp Pastor Martelino, New Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan.

More than 300 uniformed personnel of Aklan PPO to include the additional forces of Police Regional Office 6.

The said activity was attended by Atty. Elizabeth Dorinilla, Provincial Election Supervisor, COMELEC Aklan, Chiefs of Police from the different municipalities.

In her message, Atty. Dorinilla expressed her gratitude to the PNP and AFP personnel and reminded everyone to perform their tasks with a high degree of efficiency and expertise to uphold the sanctity of votes.

Meanwhile, PCOL Manlapaz assured that Aklan PNP will do its best to maintain a safe and peaceful election. He reiterated to his personnel to remain steadfast and highly vigilant against all forms of lawless elements especially now that the PNP is facing a bigtask in implementing a safe, peaceful and orderly election. He further stressed that thepresence of everyone in the field will surely boost the security measures in ensuring the conduct of secured and fair elections.

Meanwhile, the implementation of COMELEC gun ban and checkpoints are strictly being enforced in all the municipalities throughout the province. Aklan PNP also maintains to be in a full alert status to ensure that  there  are enough police officers deployed  on the   street   for the maintenance of peace and order.

Liquor ban will also be implemented which shall start from 12 midnight before election day until the 12 midnight of the following day.

AKLAN PNP NAGBABALA KAUGNAY NG IBA-IBANG MODUS NA LAGANAP NGAYON SA PROBINSIYA

Nagbabala ngayon ang Philippine National Police sa Aklan kaugnay ng iba-ibang modus na laganap ngayon sa probinsiya.

Sa panayam ng himpilang ito, sinabi ni PCInsp. Bernard Ufano, hepe ng Provincial Intelligence Branch, asahan na umano ang mga ito dahil sa nalalapit na yuletide season.

Kabilang sa mga modus na ito ang mga nagbabahay-bahay at mag-iinspeksyon ng mga LPG at magpupumilit na bilhin ang kanilang binibentang hose sa mataas na halaga.

Nakarating rin umano sa kanilang tanggapan ang insidente ng mga nagpapakilalang manggagamot at kapag nagamot na ang kanilang pasyente ay mamimilit rin na bilhin ang tindang gamot.

Nagbabala rin siya sa mga nagpapakilalang Chinese national na nagmamakaawang bilhin ang binibentang cellphone o laptop, pero ito pala ay mga peke.

Paalala ng opisyal na pulisya, pairalin umano ang isip kaysa sa puso at huwag madala sa mga nagmamakaawang foreigner na ito. Huwag rin anyang magtitiwala sa mga hindi kakilala.

Nanawagan rin siya sa taumbayan na ireport agad ang mga ganitong insidente sa mga kapulisan para sa kaukulang aksiyon.

Pinasiguro niya na tinutukan na ng kanilang tanggapan ang mga kasong ito.

AKLAN PNP NAGBABALA SA MGA DRUG PERSONALITIES SA PROBINSIYA

“Siguraduhon gid namon nga matangis gid kamo!” (Sisiguraduhin naming iiyak talaga kayo!)

Ito ang mariing pahayag ni PCInsp. Frenzy Andrade, hepe ng Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, sa panayam ng Energy FM Kalibo sa mga taong patuloy na gumagamit at nagtutulak ng iligal na droga.

Ang pahayag na ito ay kasunod ng pagkakaaresto nila kay Leny Sacapaño, dating konsehal ng Malay at una nang nagsurender sa Malay PNP station dahil sa iligal na droga.

Ayon kay CInsp. Andrade, hindi umano sila titigil sa pagmomonitor sa mga drug personalities sa probinsiya lalu na ang mga sumuko sa pulisya.

Nanawagan siya sa mga gumagamit at nagtutulak ng droga na tumigil na sa iligal na gawain.

Hinikayat rin niya ang mga surrendereer na dumalo sa drug rehabilitation program at iba pang aktibidad ng pamahalaang lokal at ng PNP.

Pinabulaanan rin niya ang mga akusasyong ‘nagtatanim’ sila ng droga at nanindigan na hindi iyon makakaya ng kanilang konsensiya.

Sa kabilang banda, sinampahan na ng kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 9165 o “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” si Sacapaño.

LALAKI ARESTADO SA RAID NG MGA KAPULISAN SA BRGY. NAVITAS, NUMANCIA SA PAGTATAGO NG MGA BALA NG BARIL

Arestado ang isang lalaki sa ginawang raid ng mga kapulisan sa bahay nito sa Purok 2, brgy. Navitas, Numancia kahapon ng umaga.

Kinilala ang suspek na si Jay Yacub.

Nakuha sa operasyon ang limang live ammunition ng caliber .45, isang live ammunition ng 12 gauge shotgun at isang holster.

Ikinasa ang operasyon ng mga tauhan ng Public Safety Company, Intelligence Branch, Drug Enforcement Unit at ng Numancia PNP dakong alas-7:00 ng umaga.

Una nang inireklamo si Yacub ng pagpapaputok ng baril sa kanilang barangay kamakailan dahilan para babaan siya ng search warrant.

Posibleng maharap sa kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 10591 ang naturang suspek na nakakulong ngayon sa Kalibo police station para sa kaukulang disposisyon.

PULIS NATAGPUANG PATAY SA LOOB NG KANYANG BAHAY SA BAYAN NG BALETE

Patay na nang matagpuan ang isang pulis sa loob ng kanyang bahay sa brgy.Fulgencio, Balete kagabi.

Kinilala ang biktima na si SPO2 Ferdinand De Mateo, at kasalukuyang nakadestino sa Aklan Public Safety Company.

Ayon sa report ng Balete PNP, dakong alas-6:00 ng gabi nang makatanggap sila ng tawag na may naganap umanong suicide sa nabanggit na lugar.

Agad namang nagresponde ang mga awtoridad at naabutan nilang nakabulagta sa sahig ang biktima at duguan. 

Hawak pa ng pulis ang issiued firearm at narekober din ang isang fire cartridge malapit sa kanyang katawan.

Kalaunan, nilinaw ng Balete PNP base sa kanilang imbestigasyon, namatay ang biktima dulot ng accidental firing at hindi nagbaril sa sarili kagaya nang unang impormasyon.

Pinabulaanan rin ng pulisya na may narekober na suicide note sa pinangyariha ng insidente taliwas sa mga kumakalat na report.

Nagtamo ng sugat ng pagbaril ang biktima sa kanan at kaliwang bahagi ng kanyang ulo.

Humingi naman ng privacy ang pamilya sa nangyari.

PCSO CHAIR CORPUZ NAKIPAGDAYALOGO SA MGA ALKALDE, MGA HEPE NG PULIS SA AKLAN

Nakipagdayalogo si Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office (PCSO) chairman Jose Jorge Corpuz sa mga alkalde at mga hepe ng pulis sa Aklan.

Sa naganap na dayalogo, inilahad ni Corpuz ang mga programa at proyekto ng PCSO lalu na ang tulong na dala ng operasyon ng Small-town Lottery (STL).

Iginiit ni Corpuz na ang STL ay isang paraan para kumita ang gobyerno na ginagamit sa paglalaan ng tulong medikal sa taumbayan.

Ayon sa report ng PCSO Aklan, sa buwan ng Hunyo ay kumita ng mahigit na siyam na milyon ang operasyon ng STL sa lalawigan.

Gayunman mababa ang bilang na ito sa kanilang presumptive monthly retail receipt (PMRR) na 23 milyon bawat buwan.

Ipinagmalaki ng PCSO ang kabuuang mahigit Php3 milyon na bahagi na naibigay na nila sa mga lokal na pamahalaan sa Aklan sa operasyon ng STL simula Marso nitong taon.

Nagpaabot naman ng hinaing ang ilang opisyal sa umao’y kakulangan ng koordinasyon ng authorized agent corporation na Yetbo sa mga lokal na pamahalaan kaugnay ng kanilang operasyon.

Sa kabilang banda, ayon sa Aklan PNP, wala pa silang napag-alamang iligal na aktibidad kaugnay sa operasyon ng STL sa probinsiya.
