New Year celebration in Western Visayas generally peaceful - PNP

The following is an initial assessment report released by Police Regional Office 6 on the security coverage of New Year celebration on the afternoon of January 1, 2019.

Overall, the New Year Celebration in Western Visayas is generally peaceful. Western Visayas has improved in its overall crime picture with the decrease in  Volume of the 8-Focus Crimes from 289 (December 16, 2017 to January 1, 2018) to 235 (December 16, 2018 to January 1, 2019) or an equivalent to 18.69% decrease. Physical Injuries hits the highest in the record with 128 incidents while carnapping is the lowest with only one (1) case. 

From December 16, 2018 to 9:30AM of January 1, 2019, PRO6 conducted a total of thirteen (13) operations against Illegal Possession, Use and Sale of Firecrackers which resulted in the arrest of one (1) personality and confiscation of Firecrackers in the amount of 154,775 pesos. 

During the New Year Celebration, Police Regional Office 6 deployed its 1,820 personnel (110-PCOs and 1,710- PNCOs) to secure all Places  of Convergence and Transportation Hubs/Terminals in addition to its usual deployment in the whole region while maintaining the full alert status. 

From 6:00PM of December 31, 2018 to 6:00AM of January 1, 2019, PRO6 was able to record two (2) Stray Bullet incidents which injured two (2) persons in Janiuay and Maasin (victim is minor) in province of Iloilo. On Indiscriminate Firing, Police Regional Office 6 was able to arrest one (1) civilian in Mandurriao, Iloilo City and was able to confiscate one (1) 9mm revolver which was used by the suspect. 

For the period December 16, 2018 to date, PRO6 was able to record forty (40) firecracker-related injuries broken down as follows: Aklan-1; Capiz-18; Iloilo-9; Iloilo City-3; Bacolod City-7; and Negros Occidental-2. Out of the 40 incidents, only one (1) was recorded before Christmas and all other 39 cases occured from December 26, 2018 onwards. Guimaras and Antique has no reported Firecracker-related Injuries/Casualty. It is also worthy to note that no fire or burning incident related to use of firecrackers occured in the whole region.##

2 lalaki arestado sa Bagong Taon dahil sa iligal na pagsasabong sa Kalibo

INARESTO NG kapulisan ang dalawang lalaki makaraang maabutang iligal na nagsasabong sa Brgy. Bakhaw Sur, Kalibo araw ng Martes, Bagong Taon.

Kinilala ang mga suspek na sina Rugen Isuga, 63-anyos, residente ng nabanggit na barangay; at Salvador Nagales, 58, residente ng Brgy. Tingaw, Kalibo.

Nasabat sa kanila ng kapulisan ang dalawang panabong na manok at tatlong iba pa sa lugar makaraang magsitakas ang mga kasama nila.

Sinabi ng operatiba na mayroon nang "tari" ang dalawang manok at isasabak na sana sa sabong.

Ikinasa ng Anti-Illegal Gambling Special Operation Task Group ng Aklan Police Provincial Office ang naturang operasyon.

Pansamantalang ikinulong sa Kalibo Police Station ang dalawa at nakatakdang sampahan ng kasong Illegal Cockfighting in Relation to Presidential Decree 449.##

Batang babae na tinangay ng agos sa Aklan River hindi parin natatagpuan ayon sa mga rescuer

MDRRMO-Numancia

HINDI PARIN natatagpuan ang batang babae na tinangay ng agos ng tubig-baha sa Aklan River araw ng Sabado.

Umaga ng Miyerkules, sinabi ni Rowen Lachica, team leader ng MDRRMO-Kalibo na simula Sabado hanggang araw ng Miyerkules ay nagsagawa sila ng search and rescue operation.

Mababatid na si Feona Obamos, anim na taon-gulang, ayon sa lola na kasama niya ay nadulas at nahulog sa revetment wall sa Brgy. Bulwang, Numancia ay mabilis na tinangay ng rumaragasang tubig sa ilog.

Kasama nila sa operation ang mga tauhan ng MDRRMO-Numancia at ng PDRRMO. Ginalugad nila ang ilang bahagi ng Aklan River at mga tabing baybayin na posibleng dagsain ang bata.

Hinanap narin nila ang bata sa mga tabing baybayin ng Camanci Norte sa Numancia, Bakhaw Norte at Mabilo sa Kalibo subalit negatibo ang resulta.

Nahirapan umano ang mga rescuer sa paghahanap sa ilog sapagkat malabo at malalim parin ang tubig at maraming mga basura dala ng baha.

Hindi nila matiyak kung saan talaga maaring napadpad ang bata. Posible aniyang nasabit lamang ito sa ilalim ng ilog o posible ring dinala na sa dagat.

Sa kabila nito, magpapatuloy parin sa kanilang paghahanap ang mga rescuer.##
