Bilang ng mga naputukan ng firecracker sa Aklan umabot na sa 12 - PHO
UMABOT NA sa isang dosena ang bilang ng mga naputukan ng firecracker sa probinsiya ng Aklan ayon sa tala ng Provincial Health Office (PHO) as of January 3.
Ayon kay Dr. Cornelio Cuachon, opisyal ng PHO, simula Disyembre 21, nakapagtala sila ng isa sa Disyembre 30, lima sa Disyembre 31, at anim sa Enero 1. Magtatapos ang bilangan sa Enero 5.
Sinabi ni Dr. Cuachon na mababa umano ito ng 37 porsyento kumpara sa nakaraang taon kung saan nakapagtala sila ng 19 firecracker-related injuries.
Sa nasabing bilang tatlo ang naitalang naputukan ng five stars, tatlo ang kwetes, dalawang libentador. May naitala ring nabiktima ng luces, camara at w. bomb.
Pinakamarami ang dinala sa Provincial Hospital na may walo, isa sa Ibajay District Hospital, isa sa Buruanga Municipal Hospital, at dalawang ang sa Altavas District Hospital.
Sa mga ito, anim ang taga-Kalibo, dalawa ang sa Altavas, isa sa Nabas, isa sa Numancia, Tangalan at isa sa Buruanga. Pinakabata sa mga naputukan ay edad sais anyos habang ang pinakamatanda ay 45.
Umaasa naman si Cuachon na sa susunod na taon ay mas bababa pa ang bilang na ito kung hindi man ma-zero.##

New Year celebration in Western Visayas generally peaceful - PNP
The following is an initial assessment report released by Police Regional Office 6 on the security coverage of New Year celebration on the afternoon of January 1, 2019.
Overall, the New Year Celebration in Western Visayas is generally peaceful. Western Visayas has improved in its overall crime picture with the decrease in Volume of the 8-Focus Crimes from 289 (December 16, 2017 to January 1, 2018) to 235 (December 16, 2018 to January 1, 2019) or an equivalent to 18.69% decrease. Physical Injuries hits the highest in the record with 128 incidents while carnapping is the lowest with only one (1) case.
From December 16, 2018 to 9:30AM of January 1, 2019, PRO6 conducted a total of thirteen (13) operations against Illegal Possession, Use and Sale of Firecrackers which resulted in the arrest of one (1) personality and confiscation of Firecrackers in the amount of 154,775 pesos.
During the New Year Celebration, Police Regional Office 6 deployed its 1,820 personnel (110-PCOs and 1,710- PNCOs) to secure all Places of Convergence and Transportation Hubs/Terminals in addition to its usual deployment in the whole region while maintaining the full alert status.
From 6:00PM of December 31, 2018 to 6:00AM of January 1, 2019, PRO6 was able to record two (2) Stray Bullet incidents which injured two (2) persons in Janiuay and Maasin (victim is minor) in province of Iloilo. On Indiscriminate Firing, Police Regional Office 6 was able to arrest one (1) civilian in Mandurriao, Iloilo City and was able to confiscate one (1) 9mm revolver which was used by the suspect.
For the period December 16, 2018 to date, PRO6 was able to record forty (40) firecracker-related injuries broken down as follows: Aklan-1; Capiz-18; Iloilo-9; Iloilo City-3; Bacolod City-7; and Negros Occidental-2. Out of the 40 incidents, only one (1) was recorded before Christmas and all other 39 cases occured from December 26, 2018 onwards. Guimaras and Antique has no reported Firecracker-related Injuries/Casualty. It is also worthy to note that no fire or burning incident related to use of firecrackers occured in the whole region.##

Six-year-old na lalaki nasugatan matapos maputukan ng five star sa bayan ng Kalibo
ISA NA ang naitalang naputukan ng firecracker sa bayan ng Kalibo kaugnay ng pagdiriwang ng Bagong Taon.
Ito ang sinabi ni SPO2 Julius Barrientos, chief for operation ng Kalibo Police Station, sa panayam ng Energy FM Kalibo gabi ng Lunes.
Nabatid na naganap ang insidente dakong alas-4:30 hapon ng Linggo sa bahay ng menor de edad sa Brgy. Mobo.
Ayon sa pulis nagtamo ng sugat sa mata ang bata makaraang maputukan ng five star, isa sa mga ipinagbabawal ng mga otoridad.
Agad dinala sa Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital ang bata pero diniklara ring outpatient makaraang magamot.
Inaalam pa ng kapulisan kung saan nabili ang ipinagbabawal na paputok.
Nanawagan naman ang kapulisan na iwasan ang paggamit ng paputok sa halip ay gumamit ng alterbong bagay para makalikha ng ingay sa pagsalubong ng Bagong Taon.
Ipinagbabawal rin ang pagpapatupok sa mga kalsada.##
