Aklanons get 2018 Aliw Awards nomination

Aklanon performers/groups make it to the final nomination list for six different categories of the prestigious 2018 Aliw Awards.

They are as follows:
Aklan Performing Arts Network (Kalibo, Aklan) - Best Cultural Theatre Group Category
Artisano Dance Troupe (Malinao, Aklan) - Best Cultural Dance Group Category
Lourd Mikhael Menez - Best DJ for Electronic Dance Music Category
Bud'eak Adlao (Aklan Performing Arts Network) - ASU CFMS) - Best New Concept Production Category
Andrian Arca (Bud'eak Adlao / APAN / ASU-CFMS) - Best Performer in a New Concept Production Category
Peter Macrohon (Bud'eak Adlao / APAN / ASU-CFMS) - Best Director for New Concept Production Category

The Aklan Performing Arts Network won the Awit Awards for Best Cultural Group in 2017. Peter Macrohon, the founder of Aklan Performing Arts Network is a two time Aliw Awardee for Best Director in New Concept Production.

Aliw Awards by the Aliw Awards Foundation, Inc. was established by the renowned Philippine journalist Alice H. Reyes, to recognize achievements in the live entertainment industry in the Philippines. Founded in 1976 in Manila, it is the pioneer in giving awards for excellence in theatre, opera, dance, live vocal and instrumental shows.

The star studded Awards Night will be held on December 13, 2018 at the Manila Hotel.##

PASCUA SA MALINAO ITINANGHAL SA PAGBISITA NG ALIW AWARDS SCREENING COMMITTEE SA BAYAN NG MALINAO

Ito ang pagtatanghal ng Pascua sa Malinao Festival na ipinakita sa pagbisita ng Aliw Award Foundation Inc. sa bayan ng Malinao araw ng Lunes.

Ito ay pagtatanghal ng Artisano Dance Troupe ng Malinao School for Philippine Craftsmen sa pangunguna ni Jomer Protacio.

Ang dance troupe ay kabilang sa Aklan Performing Arts Network (APAN) na pinarangalan bilang Best Cultural Group sa 30th Aliw Awards noong nakaraang taon.


Lingid sa kaalaman ng iba, ang Pascua sa Malinao ay taunang pagdiriwang ng bayan tuwing Disyembre na inoorganisa ng pamahalaang lokal at ng parokya.

Ang mga bisita ay mainit na sinalubong ng mga opisyal ng bayan sa pangunguna ni Mayor Ariel Igoy.

Isang maikling programa rin ang ginawa ng pamahalaang lokal kung saan ipinakita rito ang mayamang kasaysayan at kultura ng Malinao.

Ang Aliw Award screening committee ay naglilibot sa buong Panay para makahanap ng inonominate para sa iba-ibang mga parangal.

Ang grupo ay binubuo nina Luciano "Sonny" Valencia, Frank Rivera at Danilo Salcedo. Si Peter Macrohon isang Aliw awardee at siya ring artistic director ng APAN ang nagfacilitate sa pagbisita ng grupo sa probinsiya.

Ang Aliw Award ay parangal sa mga natatanging pagtatanghal kagaya ng theatre, opera, dance, live vocal at instrumental shows. | Darwin Tapayan, EFM Kalibo
