the following is an announcement comming from Aklan Electric Cooperative (Akelco):
AKELCO would like to announce that there will be changes in the reading cycle starting this month of August to prepare for the “read and bill system” that is to be fully implemented on January 2019. Comparing to the previous schedule, reading for this month will be delayed to about 2 to 3 days and another adjustment in the next succeeding months until December. In result hereto, there will be noticeable changes in the total kilowatt usage that will reflect on the September power bill of the member consumers compare to their usual usage due to the added period in the reading cycle which will become more than 30 days.
In the “read and bill system”, power rate is a requisite before the meter reader could start reading kilowatt hour meters. AKELCO monthly power rate is released every 15th or 16th of the month. This is the reason why we needed these adjustments in the reading schedules because in the full implementation of “read and bill system” on January 2019, reading cycle will start every 17th of the month.
With the “read and bill system” Member Consumer Owners will no longer wait for days for their bills to arrive after meter reading, right away, bills will be distributed. These and more innovations are to be made to provide the service our member-consumer-owners deserve.
