Gun ban violators in Aklan now at 31, liquor ban to be implemented - Aklan PNP

 From January 13 to date, 31 gun ban violators have been recorded by Aklan police force.

With this, the provincial top cop, PCOL Lope Manlapaz, sends warning to the public with the increase in number of gun ban violators three days before May 13 elections.

“There will be no let-up in our operations against persons who defy gun ban.”

“We have already arrested 31 violators and confiscated 20 bladed weapons and seven firearms since day 1,” he said.

Manlapaz revealed that most of the arrests yielded in PNP-AFP-Comelec checkpoint operations. Other violators were arrested by police responding to call for assistance, visibility patrols and saturation drives and oplan sita.

He also explained that gun ban is being enforced to prevent any form of election-related violent incidence this election period.

Meanwhile, liquor ban shall be activated starting 12 A.M of May 12 (Sunday) until 12 midnight of May 13, 2019 (Monday).

Auxiliary police sa Kalibo sugatan ng hampasin ng bote sa ulo

Sugatan ang miyembro ng Kalibo Auxiliary Police (KAP) na si Pepito Zapuez matapos hampasin ng bote ng di pa nakikilalang suspek sa loob ng Gold Cross KTV Bar.

Naganap ang insidente bandang alas 3:00 ng madaling araw.

Kwento ng KAP sa pulisya natutulog raw siya sa loob ng bar nang hampasin ng suspek.

Nagtamo ng sugat sa ulo at baba ang biktima.

Nagpapatuloy pa ang imbestigasyon ng PNP para matukoy ang suspek!

Kalibo Ostrich Farm pansamantalang bubuksan sa publiko habang inaayos ang legalidad


PANSAMANTALANG BUBUKSAN sa publiko ang Kalibo Ostrich Farm sa Brgy. New Buswang, Kalibo habang nilalakad ng may-ari ang mga kaukulang dokumento sa operasyon nito.

Sa sulat na inilabas ni Kalibo Mayor Lachica Huwebes ng hapon kay Ramon Dio, may-ari ng farm, pinayagan niyang pansamantalang magbukas sa publiko ang farm batay narin sa kahilingan ng huli.

Sa sulat, binigyan ng alkalde si Dio ng 30 araw na palugit para malakad ang Location Clearance ng farm at iba pang mga kaukulang dokumento bago ito makakuha ng Mayor's Permit.

Mababatid na pansamantalang isinara sa publiko nitong mga nakalipas na araw ang nasabing farm kasunod ng pagkadiskubre na wala itong mga kaukulang dokumento o permit mula sa munisipyo.

Iginiit naman ng alkalde sa kanyang sulat-tugon na wala pang closure order ang naturang animal farm.

Sa kabila nito aminado si Mayor Lachica na isa nang atraksiyon sa mga turista sa kabisera ng probinsiya ang nasabing farm.

Matatandaan na una nang itinampok ng himpilang ito ang nasabing farm na may nasa 40 ostrich, at iba pang mga wild animals.##

Aklan PNP send-off more than 300 uniformed personnel for 2019 polls

To ensure orderly and peaceful election, Aklan Police Provincial Office under the leadership of its Provincial Director, PCOL Lope Manlapaz, held a send-off ceremony early this morning at Camp Pastor Martelino, New Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan.

More than 300 uniformed personnel of Aklan PPO to include the additional forces of Police Regional Office 6.

The said activity was attended by Atty. Elizabeth Dorinilla, Provincial Election Supervisor, COMELEC Aklan, Chiefs of Police from the different municipalities.

In her message, Atty. Dorinilla expressed her gratitude to the PNP and AFP personnel and reminded everyone to perform their tasks with a high degree of efficiency and expertise to uphold the sanctity of votes.

Meanwhile, PCOL Manlapaz assured that Aklan PNP will do its best to maintain a safe and peaceful election. He reiterated to his personnel to remain steadfast and highly vigilant against all forms of lawless elements especially now that the PNP is facing a bigtask in implementing a safe, peaceful and orderly election. He further stressed that thepresence of everyone in the field will surely boost the security measures in ensuring the conduct of secured and fair elections.

Meanwhile, the implementation of COMELEC gun ban and checkpoints are strictly being enforced in all the municipalities throughout the province. Aklan PNP also maintains to be in a full alert status to ensure that  there  are enough police officers deployed  on the   street   for the maintenance of peace and order.

Liquor ban will also be implemented which shall start from 12 midnight before election day until the 12 midnight of the following day.

Music Artist nabbed for 'pushing' drugs in Boracay

Malay Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Team led by PLT Renie Armenio, Chief Intelligence and Investigation Section under the direct supervision by PCPT Jose Mark Anthony Z Gesulga, OIC, Malay, MPS with the personnel of PDEA-Aklan led by IA5 Christina D. Cabatingan, Aklan Provincial Officer, conducted buy-bust operation resulting to the arrest of the suspect identified as Wilven Lao y Mansangilid, single, 28 years old, Music Artist, native of Marilou District, Kalinan, Davao City and presently staying at Sitio Cagban Babaw, Brgy. Manocmanoc, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

At around 12:20 AM of May 5, 2019 at Crossing Bantud, Brgy. Manocmanoc, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan, Lao nabbed for selling 1 piece of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu to a police officer who acted as poseur buyer in exchange of Php 1,000.00. Further recovered from his possession, custody and control are the following to wit: buy-bust money worth Php 1,000.00, 5 pieces heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, 2 units Smart phones, 1 piece Brgy. ID of Brgy Yapak, Malay Aklan in the name of the suspect Wilven M Lao, 1 piece Lighter color red, 2 pieces of Indian Pipe, Cash money in different denominations amounting to Php 141.00, and 1 piece black sling bag.

Police on red alert during 2019 election

The police force in the province of Aklan will be in full alert status and will intensify all security measures to deter and prevent violence during election day.

The province top cop, Police Colonel Lope Manlapaz, declared the entire police force in Aklan on full alert in adherence to the directive of PNP Headquarters.

Based on the PNP guidelines, during Full Alert status, all PNP uniformed personnel (100%) must be present in their respective offices during and after office hours, including weekends and holidays.

Granting of leaves is suspended and those who were on leave shall be recalled, except for female PNP personnel on maternity leave or those whose given address while on leave is beyond fifty (50) kilometers from mother unit.

However, the latter shall report to the nearest police unit which will inform the mother unit by fastest means of communication, followed by a written report, for accounting purposes.

“With the success of the campaign on the gun ban and continuous intelligence monitoring, there is more reason that we must push our police personnel to be more vigilant to ensure that the May 2019 election will not only be orderly but importantly peaceful,” he said.

He is also reminding the public to be vigilant and to report any sightings of violations of the Comelec rules and regulations regarding the electoral processes so we could prevent possible violent confrontation among candidates and their supporters.(PSSg.
