Saint John the Baptist Day (Kapistahan ni San Juan/Pista ni San Juan) is a celebration annually celebrated not only in the municipality of Kalibo but also in the nearby towns, usually in the coastline, beaches, falls, and resorts in the province.
Tourists, motorist and devotees coming from other places will be expected to arrive in the province. Hence, Officer-in-Charge of Aklan PPO, PCOL Esmeraldo Osia Jr., directed the activation of “STG San Juan” providing public safety services to the general public.
“We expect the increase in the volume of commuters, tourists, and devotees due to the observance of the feast,” he said adding that the police operations against crimes, insurgency and terrorism will likewise be doubled to thwart any untoward incident.
“We will intensify our police visibility, checkpoints/chokepoints, and intelligence gathering operations,” the provincial top cop announced.
Osia also said that all field unit commanders were directed to maintain close intelligence monitoring to ensure the efficient delivery of public safety services during such festivity. (PSSgt. C. Lagatic/Aklan APPO)
