1,635 MORE BENEFICIARIES IN BORACAY GET LIVELIHOOD GRANT FROM DSWD

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office (DSWD FO6) has released livelihood grants to the second batch of beneficiaries under its Sustainable Livelihood Program for Boracay on Saturday, June 23.

A total of 1,635 beneficiaries received P15,000 each as livelihood grant from DSWD with a total disbursed amount of P24,525,000.

Of the recipients, 642 were from Barangay Balabag, 333 from Manocmanoc and 558 from Yapak.

Among the recipients also are 45 recipients from the Boracay Ati Tribal Organization (BATO), 50 from Malay Sea and Land Haulers Multi-Purpose Cooperative and seven from Caticlan Port Vendors Association.

Monitoring of the project implemented from the first batch of SLP beneficiaries is ongoing, according to Mary Ann Masculino, SLP - Regional Program Coordinator.

The DSWD released a total of P19.8 million to 1,323 SLP beneficiaries who were part of the first batch last May 31.

Meanwhile, under its Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, the DSWD has also released a total of P35,869,990.68 to 14,900 clients served as of June 22.

Under AICS, a total of 10,274 were provided with transportation assistance with a total of P24.8 million amount disbursed.

A total of 3,924 were meanwhile provided with educational assistance with a total amount disbursed of P8.8 million. The DSWD has also provided P2.1 million as medical assistance to 694 clients and P37,000 to eight clients for burial assistance.

The agency has also hired the first batch of workers under its cash for work program.

A total of 1,898 individuals from the three barangays were hired since June 11.//dswd6

Arestado ang lalaking ito kagabi sa bayan ng Malay matapos maaktuhan na nagtutulak ng iligal na droga.

Kinilala ng mga kapulisan ang suspek na si Antonio Oczon Jr. alyas "Jojo", 41-anyos, residente ng Cubay Sur, Malay.

Nasabat mula sa suspek sa buybust operation ang isang sachet ng pinaghihinalaang shabu kapalit ng Php2,000 buybust money.

Tatlo pang sachet ng parehong sangkap ang narekober mula sa suspek sa isinagawang body search.

Ayon kay PCInsp. Frensy Andrade, hepe ng Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, kumukuha umano ito ng suplay sa Isla ng Boracay.

Bago anya magsara ang Isla ay sa Boracay ito nagbebenta lalu na sa mga turista dito.

STL PANAY GINIGIPIT UMANO NG LGU KALIBO SA KANILANG DREDGING PROJECT

Ginigipit umano ng pamahalaang lokal ng Kalibo ang STL Panay Resources Ltd sa kanilang dredging project ayon sa isang kinatawan nito.

Ito ang reklamong ipinadala ni Pablo Ocampo sa tanggapan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pamamagitan ng Presidential Complaint Center.

"Kami po ay ginigipit ng mayor ng Kalibo, bagama't kumpleto po ang aming mga documents upang makapag-umpisa ng dredging," bahagi ng kanyang sulat-reklamo.

Kaugnay rito, humihingi ng agarang solusyon ang kanilang kompanya kay Duterte upang matuloy anila ang kanilang pag-dredge sa Aklan river.

Kinuwestiyon naman sa isa pang sulat ng STL ang jurisdiction ni mayor William Lachica sa pagpapahinto ng kanilang proyekto base sa inilabas niyang executive order.

Pirmado naman ni Patrick Lim, managing director ng STL, ang sulat na ito sa Pangulo.

Ipinagtataka rin nila kung ano pang mga dokumento ang hin
ahanap ng LGU Kalibo gayung ibingay na umano nila lahat.

Sa kabilang banda, nanindigan naman si mayor Lachica na hindi siya kontra sa dredging project sa kondisyon na malagyan ng revetment wall ang gilid ng ilog.
